Founding AI Engineer (m/f/d)

The role

As a Founding AI Engineer, you’ll design, build, and run the production systems at the core of our product: agentic pipelines that combine LLMs, computer vision, classical algorithms, and conventional software into systems that are reliable, fast, and efficient.

You’ll work directly with the founders and our customers, and own architecture, engineering practices and early hiring. This is a senior role.

The day-to-day

• Design and ship end-to-end production pipelines that orchestrate complex multi-modal inference algorithms.
• Build and evaluate agentic workflows at scale: LLM orchestration, retrieval, vision models, and the evals that prove they work
• Build and evaluate computer vision models for large scale image analysis
• Build and evaluate recommendation systems using proven strategies, from classical statistics to LLM-based decisions
• You build efficient and cost-effective code that is easy to maintain and explain
• Make pragmatic architecture decisions and keep the system simple as it grows
• Own operations, scaling, cost, and reliability of pipelines in the cloud

What you bring

• 5+ years shipping ML systems to production, including Deep Learning or Computer Vision
• MSc or PhD in an AI related field or a proven track record of related achievements
• Hands-on experience building with LLMs: prompting, tool use, retrieval, evaluation
• Strong software engineering skills in at least one of Python, C++, Kotlin, or Rust
• Experience building and operating data or AI pipelines in production
• A good understanding of deployment and operations
• A proactive, hands-on mindset and the ability to work independently
• You follow research closely and know when a new technology is worth building on
• The ability to influence people and build alignment across a team

Nice to have

• Experience building APIs and backend services
• Experience with AWS and infrastructure as code
• Experience with workflow orchestration and pipeline tooling
• Experience in an early-stage startup or a founding team
• Curiosity about culture and trends in fashion, sports, and media
