Founding Software Engineer (m/f/d)

The role

As a Founding Software Engineer, you’ll design, build, and run the systems that turn our AI pipelines into a product: the services, APIs, frontends, and infrastructure that make them reliable, fast, and easy to use.

You’ll work directly with the founders and our customers, and own architecture, engineering practices and early hiring. This is a senior role.

The day-to-day

• Design and ship end-to-end production pipelines together with users, from data ingestion to the outputs teams act on
• Build the services, integrations, and tooling that connect pipelines to the rest of the product
• Build the frontends and internal tools teams use to explore, review, and act on pipeline outputs
• Design and maintain the APIs and data layer that connect pipelines, services, and frontends
• Own deployment, cost, and reliability of pipelines in the cloud
• Set up engineering foundations: CI/CD, testing, versioning, monitoring, and alerting
• Make pragmatic architecture decisions and keep the system simple as it grows

What you bring

• BSc, MSc, or PhD in a computer science related field
• 5+ years shipping production software in a product-focused software company
• Strong software engineering skills in at least one of Python, C++, Kotlin, or Rust
• Experience building web frontends, for example with React, Vue, or a similar framework
• An interest in data pipelines and backend systems, and in how they run in production
• A solid understanding of deployment and operations
• A proactive, hands-on mindset and the ability to work independently
• You follow new technology closely and know when something is worth building on
• The ability to influence people and build alignment across a team

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS and infrastructure as code
• Experience working with AI products
• Experience in an early-stage startup
• Curiosity about culture and trends in fashion, sports, and media
